This program includes both the original 1995 OAV and the 1996 sequel, Galaxy Fraulein Yuna Returns. Based on a 1992 computer game, this slapstick adventure is populated entirely by aggressively cute adolescent girls, including Polylina, who spoofs Tuxedo Mask in Sailour Moon. Bouncy blond Yuna is the 'Champion of Light,' who has apparently saved the entire galaxy from evil on numerous occasions. In 'Sorrowful Saline,' Fraulein D frames Yuna on criminal charges before the Galactic Alliance. Yuna takes on a trio of maniacal android sisters in 'Fairy of the Deep Darkness.' She wins over the youngest sister through unremitting friendliness but destroys the other two with some help from her many pals. Both stories are badly underdeveloped, and although Yuna is refreshingly free of fan-service jiggle shots, it's silly to the point of inanity. Rated 12 Up: Violence, alcohol use, minor profanity, brief nudity. --Charles Solomon

Pretty cute series. Really cool characters. Not to mention really neat songs. Really funny too. Giving this title four stars is because I did not like the ending to RETURNS.But I did have a fun time watching this. I even got a drama cd after this (even though I don't know that much Japanise).

This is one of the pieces our anime club was watching around 4am, bushy-tailed & caffine-eyed. After the 1st episode, 75% of the club found some excuse to do something elsewhere or sleep. Those who braved the subsequent episode suddenly were overcome with nausia & we couldn't bare to watch the rest. & none of us ate anything bad-.- I had to promise DiGi Charat & Pretear to get them to come back.
If you DO buy this, I reccomend a bottle of stomache pills & a high tollerence for pure gooey sap.

The only thing which made me buy this DVD was the Japanese opening song by Chisa Yokoyama and despite a spunky JPOPish opening song I expected a pretty tame show - boy was I wrong!
Galaxy Fraulein Yuna is a fast, cutesy, action comedy with incredibly lovable characters especially the defender of the galaxy Yuna and her food loving side kick Yuri (who's forever stuffing her face in a most hillarious manner).
The show assumes you already know who the main characters are but I had no problem with that. The action is fast, there is lots of humour and even a touching moment or two. In one of the episodes Yuna befriends her enemy - a confused young girl with supernatural powers and invites her to move in with her. The show continually introduces many other cute girls who are on Yuna's team. Some characters are clear parodies of other shows - there is a character who parodies Tuxedo Mask from Sailour Moon, another two characters parody Sasami(or Ruri from Nadesico) and Ayeka from Tenchi Muyo and yet another looks almost like Belldandi from Ah My Goddess! In one scene we also see Usagi and the other Sailour Scouts playing at school while a battle scene in episode two shows Zantraedi ships from Macross/Robotech being blown up.
Despite being spoiled by shows such as Hand Maid May, Love Hina, Chobits and I My Me, Strawberry Eggs I enjoyed this light-hearted show immensely and found the only drawback that there are only five episodes. Brilliant! ^-^

This anime's original name is "Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Yuna". I'm a bit curious about why they used Fraulein(a German word that is a word used to address a girl or young woman politely). Anyway, this DVD has the 5 episode OVA. (The second OVA has not been licenced by anyone.). This show is based off of the Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Yuna video game so Sorrowful Saline may be a bit confusing at first, but then again this show is light-hearted and it is not a series to be serious about. This DVD has 5 bilingual episodes with song subtitles(for the English language) and English subtitles(for the Japanese language). Then there are 5(or 6)ADV previews and a preview of Galaxy Fraulein(made by ADV films). The video quality is pretty good for a show done in 1995 and the audio is okay. The only reason I gave it four stars was because the extras are scarce! Otherwise, get this if you been watching serious anime.

When going to the cruddy little video rental place, the only anime I had never seen that seemed funny was called Yuna. I'm not going to try and explain the plot to you, because it will make no sence; You have to watch it. It's an excellent cartoon with no nudity, however there is a scene of lesbian content that is rather unpleasant. Swearing is PG-rated; violence is ...typical fare for an anime or goofy and innocent. Extremely amusing and high recommendation for an anime fan or someone new who wants to know what it's about. Be forewarned that it IS in Japanese, however there are subtitles and I feel that it has an authentic touch. The anime style is strikingly reminiscent of Sailour Moon, but the charactres are so much more appealing. In conclusion, it's great, but may confuse or upset some.
