Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Unbelievable that there are no comments about sexual content
My 13 year old daughter came home from the library with this book today. I began to read through the very first page or two to see if it was appropriate for her age. On the very first page a history is given describing two drunken men in a pick-up truck with panties on their windshield. By page 3 ( the very first page of chapter 1) a young girl is described as reminiscing about the two summers past including having a boy's hand up her shirt and now the addition of the other hand down her pants....at 15. I am so saddened to find this so acceptable. TV, movies, sitcoms, books, magazines, commercials, why must everything out there go "there"?? I've tried so hard to protect my daughters' innocence without keeping them unaware. I've tried to explain how beautiful sex is in the context it was intended by God but feel as though there is almost no support for me in the everyday world. Sex is cheap and without respect. Craving the wrong kind of physical attention much too early is damaging causing a young girl's perspective of how a man is supposed to treat her to be distorted. My daughters are priceless to God and the men He has already chosen for them deserve to know that they are pure, special and worth waiting for. The story may be about friends but I cannot overlook the lack of respect for young girls and lack of good judgement from the author who is in a position to influence young minds.

Birdie, Leeda, and Murphy are three girls that you need to get to know. Now.

Murphy is the troublemaker, Birdie is the shy girl whose dad owns the peach farm all the girls work at, and Leeda can seem like the snobby girl, but deep down is very sweet. These three girls, who don't know each other at all when they very first come to work, soon become best friends. They have their boyfriend problems, petty fights, and family problems that they help each other overcome, and that's what pulls them together.

This book is definitely for THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS fans. All three of the girls are good and bad in their own ways and are loyal to each other. But not so much that it gets boring...

Even though it was a little difficult to get into, I ended up loving PEACHES by the time I was done. A great girly-girl book, or even for anyone interested in how friendships form, and how peach-picking can impact a friendship.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Sweet summer read
I enjoyed this book a lot... I'm passing it along to my best friends. We happen to be a set of three very different georgia peaches ourselves. Very sweet read, cute and refreshing.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - A Juicy Read

This is a sweet and juicy read about three girls and one powerful friendship. Murphy, Leeda, and Birdie are three different girls with three completely different personalities. I think that if the three characters weren't so different, the story wouldn't be as interesting and stirring.
Murphy's the kind of girl who would rather be getting herself into trouble than hanging out at home on the couch. Leeda is absorbed in her boyfriend Rex. She is constantly bragging and raving about him. Birdie is the odd duck of the bunch. She'd rather sit up in her room and look out the window than go to the movies or the pool with her friends.
When summer comes around and Leeda's lying by the pool at her mansion, she discovers that she will be spending the summer with her timid cousin Birdie. When Murphy is lying out under a pine tree with her beau Gavin, she finds out that the summer she'd been waiting for wasn't going to turn out exactly how she'd planned. When the three girls meet, they create an inseparable friendship.
This book is a phenomenal book that I couldn't put down. The only thing I didn't like is how often I found a sexual reference in this book. The sexual references are not extremely mature, but I certainly would not recommend this book to a young child. This book is probably for grades 6 and up.
There is an excellent theme to this story. It is to hold your closest friends closest to your heart and never let go. I loved this book and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a delicious book that makes you want to keep reading it over and over.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - "Peachs" Is a winner.
I loved peachs! I couldn't put it down till I finished it. It was amazing, I even read through my favorite parts when I'm feeling down. Its an awesome feel-good book. It deals with friendship, guys, and the perfect peach. I loved it so much, I bought the second one. "The Secret Of Peachs" I can't wait to read that one as well.
