Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
Susan Michaels was once the hottest reporter on the Beltway Beat until a major scandal ruined her life and left her writing stories about alien babies and Elvis sightings. Life as she once knew it is over, or so she thinks, but then she gets a lead on a story that could salvage her extinct career. She heads to the local animal shelter, expecting a hot news tip, which she gets in the form of a major police cover-up . . . for a ring of soul-sucking vampires out to take over Seattle. So much for saving her credibility.
And if that isn’t bad enough, she gets talked into adopting a cat and finds she’s allergic to it. A cat that turns out to be a shapeshifter who claims to be an immortal vampire slayer on the prowl for the same corrupt cops. Her very first thought: seek professional help.
But as Susan’s drawn into Ravyn’s dark and dangerous world, she comes to realize that there’s a lot more at stake than just her defunct career. Now it’s no longer a question of bringing the truth to her readers; it’s a matter of saving their very lives and souls.
Ravyn’s life was shattered over four hundred years ago, when he mistakenly trusted the wrong human with the truth of his existence. He lost his family, his honor, and his life. Now, in order to save the people of Seattle, he’s forced to confront that nightmare all over again, and to trust another woman with the secret that could destroy him.
In the world of the Dark-Hunters, life is always dangerous. But never more so than now; when a very human woman can shatter their entire world with just one story. The only question is . . . will she?

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - a different happy ending
I just finished the book last night and have to say that it was refreshingly different. I do want the main characters to get together, but sometimes it just feels as if getting their soul back and married is the only ending possible.
This book shows finally that the Dark-Hunter/Were Hunter loves his job just as much as he loves his mate and is willing to find a compromise. Makes it more "realistic" for me. I also like that the heroine stays consistently allergic - I was afraid Love would somehow magically take care of it. All in all, I think this is a quirky romance, it somehow reminds me of Kyrian's story a bit. The beginning may be a bit hasty but it finds a good pace in the rest of the book.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Were-hunters rock!
Can't miss with Sherrilyn Kenyon, she's the best! She always brings humour & lots of action into her books. Were-hunters are my fav, mostly because of the mating thing. I like the fact they're bound to their mates. Excellent book, highly recommend.

Sherrilyn Kenyou makes it so easy to picture the people and scenes in her books at the same time she invites you to broaden your imagination. Truly exciting!

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Dark Side of the Moon
I, for one, enjoyed this book just like have all of the others by Kenyon. It was a new twist on the DH series having a shape shifter in the mix and I loved the sarcasm myself. There is nothing like a little fun bickering to build suspense...or sexual tension. Everyone reacts to situations differently and how can you limit the personalities of characters when the world is so full of variety? It can get a little confusing keeping up with all of the characters but since the whole thing seems loosely based on Greek mythology, and the plethora of Gods and Goddesses in that domain, it is only fun that there are a lot of new and mysterious characters showing up. It brings in a lot of new material to work with in the future and makes you wonder how they are going to fit in the bigger picture. Over all a busy story that I will probably read it again and see if I can guess how the story line will come together.

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - Dissappointing for the Dark Hunter Series
Another disappointment for me. Leading women are starting to annoy me. Also seems like the novels are loosing that edge. Addicted to the series so will keep reading but hope the subsequent novel is not a disappointment.
