There was a time when movies expected us to suspend our disbelief as they followed a hilarious plot without the burden of self-reference or irony. Eddy Murphy shines in this light and uninhibited search for the child who will save the world from its sins.

I saw this movie for the very first time when I was 9 years old. 21 years later, I still laugh when I watch it. It has so many classic lines in it. "Only a man whose heart is pure can wield the knife and only a man whose a** is narrow can fit down these stairs." Ya gotta love it. It's Eddie Murphy at his 80s best and it's hilarious. It's a very good timepiece as well....in the opening shots, they show random scenes in L.A. and premium gas is only 99 cents a gallon! LOL!

When a child with magical powers is kidnapped in Tibet, a Los Angeles social worker Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is destined to save the "chosen one" and defeat the demon Sardo Numspa (Charles Dance). Great role by Victor Wong as the beggar/Lama. Plenty of laughs, good action.

I love this movie. I love Eddie Murphy IN this film. I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't enjoy it. It has comedy, love, adventure and fantasy all in one package.

What a terrible, low budget, movie. We could not finish it.
