With over six hours of action spanning more than 50 years of Colts Football, 'THE HISTORY OF THE COLTS' DVD is a must-have for any pro football fan.
Amazon.com:
Colts: The Complete History is a tale of two cities. The very first disc is a 65-minute history of the team in Baltimore, from its woeful start in the 1950s to the building of a powerhouse led by coach Weeb Ewbank, Alan Ameche, and ninth-round draft pick Johnny Unitas. They went on to the 1958 championship, later dubbed 'the greatest game ever played,' and were embraced by the blue-collar town. Later years included Super Bowl III under new coach Don Shula, the last-minute thrills of Super Bowl V, Joe Thomas's subsequent dismantling of the team that led to Unitas' final game in Baltimore, the dawning of the Bert Jones and Ted Marchibroda era, and, on March 28, 1984, the Mayflower vans that departed for Indianapolis. Among the interviewees are WR Raymond Berry, DT Art Donovan, DE Gino Marchetti, coach Don Shula, RB Lenny Moore, and executive Ernie Accorsi. Filling out disc 1 are 54 minutes of featurettes and an hourlong 'Greatest Games' spotlight on the 1958 championship.
The 45-minute history on disc 2 focuses on the Colts' 1984 welcome to Indianapolis and the subsequent development of the team. Again starting with some lean years, the Colts traded for Eric Dickerson and drafted Jeff George, Steve Emtman, and Marshall Faulk. After a run to the 1995 AFC Championship game, the arrival of superstars Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, and Edgerrin James as well as coach Tony Dungy helped the Colts battle the Steelers in the January 2006 playoffs. Interviewees include Marchibroda, Jim Harbaugh, and Jim Irsay, the son of the team's late owner, Robert Irsay, but none of the current players. The 140 minutes of bonus features include the 2003 'Tuesday Night Miracle' when Dungy returned to Tampa Bay, the 2005 Game of the Week in which Manning and Harrison made history, an interview with Manning, and shorter pieces on coach Jim Mora (discussing his infamous meltdowns), and Dwight Freeney. --David Horiuchi

Disk #1 is great! Worth the price even though the second disk comes as a bonus. If you were ever a true Baltimore Colts fan, you really need to own this DVD Set. It took 15 years to become a Colts fan again as I really enjoy watching Manning. Reminds me of the the days I spent biting my nails over what Johnny U was going to do next. The second disk was OK until they gave a hero's recognition to Irsay, honoring that fat drunken lush in their ring of fame. The best thing that man ever did was die and to honor him as some sort of savior was ludicrous. Disk #2 is a true bike reflector!

This item arrived quickly and in good condition. I bought this for the Baltimore section of the collection. A lot of great action and historical film. I have no interest in the Indy part.

I really enojoyed the history DVD, it was brief in some era's but still gave a pretty good draft of important events throughout the franchise.
Having Maddog throttling that fan that ran on to the field during the game, priceless!
I wish it had more content, hint....hint..

It will not be too much trouble using white-out to get rid of the "Indianapolis" stains on the cover. And, like some other reviewers have pointed out, the second disk will be great for cleaning up my bird-cage, for sliding under my tottering table leg and for whizzing across the room is I root for it to smash into a million pieces. GO RAVENS!!!!!!

The DVD's are a great history of a great franchise, very enjoyable history of two eras. You might notice the multiple jokes about disc 2 most of which are obviously written by the same sad and unfulfilled hater. Please go away and spread your hatred elsewhere. Real fans of football do not need your garbage.
