Amazon.com Review:
Who would have guessed one could identify so closely with a worm? In the four eight-page stories of Wow, It's Worm!, this green-striped invertebrate's small daily adventures are entirely recognizable to any young human reader. In one story, Worm compares himself to his friends and decides he's just right the way he is. In another episode, Worm is so hot that he has to keep finding more fans to cool down. He also watches movies and builds towers with his blocks. Brand New Readers is an utterly charming series introducing young children to the joys of reading. Each slim case contains four short paperback stories with colorful, funny pictures and just one sentence per page, so even new or reluctant readers can be successful at reading right away. A page of valuable tips shows teachers and parents how to help their brand-new readers master these skills. Other titles in the series include Piggy and Dad, Winnie All Day Long, and Here Comes Tabby Cat. (Ages 4 to 7) --Emilie Coulter

Okay folks....start shaking the pennies, nickles, dimes and quarters out of your piggie banks! Go get the boxed set of Worm books! He's funny! He's inventive! He's industrious! He's just flat out terrific!!!
I've used this boxed set with second graders, high school special education students, and college students as writing prompts and as a writing style to imitate using other characters and situations. I laugh every time I read these books and the students I've worked with have laughed too. One second grader said we should write the author to let her know what a great job they did!!! Fantastic stories! Great books for English Language Learners....the humour shines through even if the readers don't read a word of English. Buy the box....you will be WOWED! Termite is also another fun character the author has created.

These books are certainly thin. The pictures are cute. It is certainly for the very beginner reader. If your child is already reading a little bit, you might be disappointed with these books, but if he or she is brand new at this skill, these books should be added to your library. My son likes me to read to him while on the potty, these books are helping him to read to himself while there. That's 2 pluses to me. LOL

All of the books in the Brand New Readers series are great and they are just right for the child who is learning to read. Darling illustrations and fun animal characters grab the interest of the young reader from the beginning. The books are short and there are 4 in a set so your child feels a real sense of accomplishment when finishing a set of these books.
Wow! It's Worm! is our favorite set of these books. We think worm is a funny little guy and my daughter laughed out loud when she read these books to me. We especially love the one about Worm watching movies, very cute!
