Product Description:
From the New York Times bestselling author of Ransom comes an exquisite tender tale of love, adventure and passion!
In feudal England, Elizabeth Montwright barely escaped the massacre that destroyed her family and exiled her from her ancestral castle. Bent on revenge, she rode again through the fortress gates, disguised as a peasant...to seek aid from Geoffrey Berkley, the powerful baron who had routed the murderers.
He heard her pleas, resisted her demands, and vowed to seduce his beautiful subject. Yet as Elizabeth fought the warrior's caresses, love flamed for this gallant man who must soon champion her cause...and capture her spirited heart!

Gentle Warrior (Tapestry Romance) This was a fantastic read. I love Julie Garwood. It is the type book that once you pick it up, you don't want to put it down until its finished. I highly recommend this book and this author if you truely like romance novels.

I really enjoyed this book (there are not many JG books that I have not enjoyed) and didn't want to put it down. I will have to say, if you like bantering, this is the book for you! Garwood pushes the envelope with the bantering between Elizabeth and Geoffrey, but I never felt "get over it already". Their clash of wits is comical, but in true Garwood style, she tailors her readers a fine story where you fall in love with both hero and heroine who are damaged goods. Definitely recommend!

I actually read this book years ago when it was very first released. It was Garwood's very first book and although it isn't as good as some of her later ones, it IS worth picking up. I throughly loved the story of Geoffrey and Elizabeth. He is ONE stubborn man but then Elizabeth is just as stubborn and for the time, extremely independent. She can take care of herself, which, for Geoffry, is extremely irritating since he expects her to act like other women of the time period and be "helpless".
I have to comment that the ending was rather flat for me. I just expected more to happen with one of the the villains in the novel and other than a final confrontation within the last few pages of the book, I felt there could have been MORE that could have been added. Which is the ONLY reason why I gave this book four out of five stars. Otherwise I enjoyed it very much and couldn't put it down until I'd finished it.

This novel was presented as a companion to Honor's Splendour. They do not have the same characters but the hero is still a dark handsome baron. I was pleased with the book and wish Julie Garwood would write a sequel. I want more of the baron and his wild bride.

I have just read this book and ill admit I was worried at very first because of all the bad reviews I read but this book was great! Garwood has a way of writing that makes me apart of the book and I love that. It was funny and cute and I'll deffinetly read it again!
