Lance Marshall and Savannah Carpenter very first meet outside a sex club in D.C., although Savannah doesn't realize it. Savannah is an artist who was looking for information about her sister who's in a coma after what the police tell her was an accidental fall from a cliff. She's caught by the security guards, but rescued by Lance... in wolf form.
Lance is a werewolf, and an investigative reporter. He's heard some stories about the club and is checking it out to write an exposé.
Turns out the basement of the club houses a portal to another dimension, and a being from that dimension that feeds on and affects human emotions, which makes the club such a success--it influences them to act on their deepest, darkest desires.
With the help of a client and an employee of the club, and several members of the Marshall clan, they solve the mystery and save themselves, and fall in love along the way.
I'm always impressed with the variety Rebecca York brings to this series. Lance's career as an investigative reporter is a good example--it's a natural choice for a werewolf, but not one you see all that often.
The existence of other dimensions has already been introduced in this series, back in Edge of the Moon, so it comes as no surprise, though this dimension is different from the previous one... or at least the creature is different. There's an intriguing peek at life inside that dimension, and a woman, Rinna, who hunts those creatures. I'm hoping assured that she'll be featured in a future story.

It wasn't quite the werewolf-related romance novel I had in mind, but it was a real delight to read with lots of delicious sensual situations. Not the book for the least-bit prude or easily offended by S&M/bondage material, but for those tolerant it's a nice book to take to bed.

Sex, romance and intrigue.
If you are a fan of Rebecca's books, this one should blow you over. Secret sex clubs where they fulfill your every desire, a reporter who knows how to find the dirty deeds and a woman who wants to know what happened to her sister. Three ingredients for a great book.
It's the fifth in the Moon books and very sexy. It is also the very first book to touch on the subsequent series Ms. York is working towards involving a parallel world. Great reading.

Rebecca York, is one of my favorite werewolves series writer. She had the talent to make me get into the stories and make it work. Her characters are always likeable. With promises of excitement, mystery and romance....York is so much worth it IMO.
Shadow of the Moon is the latest "Moon" werewolves series. The book grabbed me from the very first page and I never put it down. It was wonderfully exciting and very steamy, sensual, with some explcit scenes. The book added dimension to the story which was what made the story great! The tension between Savannah and Lance, was sizzle. I really enjoyed seeing the Marshalls' brothers and their wives again; including the cousins. I love to see old characters making appearance...hence the reason I love series books . there also second characters couple that are likeable too. And it look like the subsequent book going to continue off where we met Rinna's world :)YAY!
I love the werewolves "Moon" series. And I think you won't be disappointed in it. It's a worthy read! Do yourself a favor and go read Rebecca York books.

Rebecca York knows how to combine spicy romance with an excellent story. Her plotting is dead on, the twists and turns kept me turning the pages. And the sex is terrific.
