I read Silent Descent a few years ago, but I remember it prefectly. It was the very first novel I ever read by Couch and I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable. Couch has a knack for making you care about the characters in his books which makes the books all the more exciting and suspensefull. If you read this book you have to read Rising Wind which is the sequel. These two books are incredible, and just plain good books that are fun to read, as are all of his books.
