Product Description:
Because the Dream. . .
Young, high-spirited Lady Madeline Matthews is expected to wed an aging, lecherous lord. But she would rather shame herself in the eyes of society than sacrifice her freedom, and resolves to render herself unmarriageable by indulging in a torrid affair with Britain's most acclaimed actor and notorious womanizer, Logan Scott.
Because the Heart. . .
He is a legend in the footlights and in the bedchamber. But when the curtain falls, Logan is an intensely private, guarded man still tormented by past betrayals that cut deep into his pride and his heart. Now a forward little minx who seems completely out of place in the bright, sophisticated world of the London stage is disrupting his orderly existence with her constant presence, her unspoiled beauty and vibrant charm. And what begins with an onstage kiss threatens to blossom into something more rapturous and real. But very first Logan and Madeline both must be brave enough to drop the masks they hide behind. . . and reveal their true selves in the golden glorious light of love.

There's only one thing i can say and that is that this is a wonderful book. I had read a few bad reviews about the book and when i saw it at the bookstore i was not going to buy it. However, i thought i would give the book a go and as i was reading it, i was wondering, 'how could anyone say that this is a bad book'. Why? This book is just fantastic and is now one of my favourtie Lisa Kleypas novels.

Lisa Kleypas has become one of my favorite authors: she writes sexy stories in the Regency times. But this book is very boring and very predictable. The girl is very insipid, little attractive and I really didn't feel that she had anything in herself that could attract such a wonderful hero. Yes, he is magnificent, powerful, charismatic and I enjoyed a lot imagining this kind of David Garrick with a deep and seductive voice. Sorry but the history develops in a very trite way: the sick hero is something very used.

I loved this book. The heroine was spunky and the hero was a tortured soul, which is a great combo in my opinion. The ending was very touching. Lisa Kleypas just writes the kind of characters that I enjoy reading. I read this book in one day which is always my measuring stick for a good book.

I love Lisa Kleypas' novels and wait with anticipation for each new one. This one wasn't really my favorite. I liked the character of Logan in Somewhere I'll Find You (he's also great in the short story 'I Will' that deals with his brother. That story is in the Wist List collection and is absolutely fantastic.) but in Because You're Mine he just came off as a jerk. I'm not a fan of those stories where the hero treats the heroine really poorly but in the end everything's ok. In the last chapter it does become clear why he treats her that way but I found it odd that there wasn't any indication of those reasons before that moment. It just seemed like he was being nasty to her and he was such a bully. I agree with other reviewers to the extent that their age difference emphasized some of the negative aspects of their relationship. It's one thing if a guy is a jerk to his wife but it's weird when she's so much younger than him. It came off as borderline abusive and though Maddie did make a mistake early on, she tried to make up for it for way too long. I didn't think she stood up for herself enough (or soon enough)to suit me. Who knows, that was just my perception. I like heroines with a little more backbone. Can you imagine Sophia or Lillian taking that jive? That's why I love them! In all, I agree with a lot of other people-- loved loved LOVED the very first half, then hated the second half. For a better Logan story, check out 'I Will'.
