I found this series to be quite an amusing alternative to the quirky Excel Saga. Sure, it's not as rude, crude and absurd, but the fact that it's still hilarious without needing to be is proof that this is a great series. I was disappointed with last season's ending, but picking up this DVD reminded me how great the very first series was. 5 stars!

I bought these two volumes of Those Who Hunt Elves 2 because I enjoyed Those Who Hunt Elves 1. Unfortunately, the second series is just terrible. While the very first volume of this series has some redeeming moments, the second one has none. One big mistake they made was to try to have the characters explain themselves as good at heart. Why bother? The problem with any explanation is that it makes you think. Thinking is probably the last thing you want to do for a show like this. This is because once you start thinking the entire premise of the show becomes plain stupid. The elves, instead of living in fear of being stripped against their wills, can just volunteer the information concerning the existence of the spell fragments on their bodies. This is because the fragments are often regarded as disfigurements by them anyway, so their removal is like free plastic surgeries.
Unlike the very first series, the stories in the second series were not funny, and the endeavor to inject morals into them was the death blow.
Finally, the absence of Jessica Calvello in the role of Celcia deprived the dub of much needed energy.
