Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Perceptive Warning About and Overview of Foundation Support Distortion in Healthcare Policy
If only Warren Buffet had read this book before he pledged his considerable wealth to the already too-powerful, if well-intentioned, Gates Foundation!

Dr. Murasking skillfully analyses the effects of the GAVI and other top-down initiatives on the public health policies of developing countries. He presciently points out the distorting effect that one huge source of funding has on public health around the world.

This book should be required reading for everyone concerned about PPPs, public health initiatives, and developed world policy makers and donors who want to assist those in developing nations.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Fascinating Insight Into International Health and Development ..
This book provides a rare glimpse into the inner workings of the world of international public health and development.

Given the author's keen interest in both psychoanalysis and history, it brings the issues and challenges faced by the early pioneers in the effort by the Gates Foundation to address immunization challenges to life in a unique and intriguing way.

I found the book to be very engaging with many interesting insights and lessons for all who want to bring about change in the global arena.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Excruciatingly boring book
I saw a mention of this book in blogspace a few months ago. Though I am an enthusiastic reader on public health and development (I used to be in Peace Corps in Africa), this was the most boring read I have had the misfortune to encounter. Couldn't make it all the way through and was sorry I wasted the money. He focuses on really minor stuff, like a string of emails between people who aren't important and who don't have much to say.
