I learned a lot from this book. Not only does it explain the challenges of chronic disorganization, it really gets you to think outside the box. While standard filing systems work for some people, it is important to understand the individual and design a system that will work for them. This book is filled with creative ideas that are unique, focus on the individual, and encourage the individual's success.

I was dissappointed by this book. This book gives a lot of details on how some disorganized persons can get organized. Nevertheless, it does not give a framework, or a model on how most disorganized people can be organized. It lacks the simplicity of a concept as well as a systematic method to address disorganization for all disorganized people.

Judith Kolberg dares to work with people who have very big challenges with keeping "too much stuff." She helps her clients 'let go,' when letting go is difficult and threatening, employing her creativity, an observant eye, a listening ear and ever sensitive touch. Judith's tools are uniquely usable, even fun! I love the question she has a client ask, when considering the rationale for keeping or giving up an item - "Does this need me?" I also love the term she coined "tactile sympathy" for the attachment some people have to things they touch. The answer when clearing things out, let someone else touch them. There are oh-so-many more great tips and tools in this book. Thank you, Judith.

Kolberg's section on "Emotional Organizing" is brilliant! She handles the topic with humour and understanding. She really understands how the "clutter challenged" feel about their stuff, and how to use those feelings in a positive way to conquer the "stuff" that is overwhelming you, even if you love it. This book will help you think about "stuff" in a new and freeing way! It beats any book on "hoarding" or "chronic disorganzization" that I have ever read; and I've read (and lost!) them all! I wish I could give this book 10 stars instead of just 5!
