this book was quite humorous but i thought there would be more how to use it ie more exercise sets, how to start how to finish what should you be aiming for after a month of use etc it was quite poor in this regard as he spent a lot of time waffling.

I bought this book two years ago and have been using kettlebells since then.
This book gives the "basics" of kettlebell training, the presses and the "explosive" movements: snatch and clean and jerk.
These exercises are simple, but effective. The book does do a good job of explaning them.
Using the exercises found in this book an individual can train effectively for years.

Pavel added really great workouts for that is gets a 4 star rating . . . but i would have given it a 5 stars rating if it did not includes a bunch of things I did not really care about. I found it bothersome. It was my impression that Pavel tries to sell you on the whole kettlebell workout thing. While reading I kept thinking to myself wow there is a bunch of things here I don't care about, like history of the kettlebell workout and how it can help my skinny body get huge. Now I realize you can skip all this because it is a book . . . that is a welcome feature in a books. Hope this helps you make a decision!

I had flown past the 60 year old landmark and was feeling it. Deciding I needed to do something to slow the inevitable slide, yet not wanting to devote my remaining life to fitness training, I decided to try kettlebells as they provide a great workout in just a few minutes per day which was the amount of time that I wanted to allot for workout training.
Wow... There is not much else to say. After about six months, I feel better than I have since I was in my 30's or early 40's. Energy in surplus, I don't tire when doing any moderately strenuous activity. Golfers take note, it added 25 yards to my drives and more than a half club lenght to my iron shots. I now sleep like a stone where as before I would toss and turn. Oddly, I sleep less time but awake completely refreshed. Could be my age - fitness combination, I don't have an answer to that one.
I have a friend who is in his 40's and is in fairly good shape, I now need to stop for him when we are on long uphill hikes. Before he would stop for me. Now he is a believer and ordered the book and a kettlebell.
Highly recommended to anyone who is not satisfied with aging the old fashioned way.

...is good. I wanted to give kettlebell lifting a try, so I got the book and DVD. The book is garbage for showing how to lift the kb's. I know excercises can be tough to show in a book, but these are REALLY bad. The rest of the book is just telling you that kb's are awesome and they were invented in Russia. The DVD on the other hand is well done and shows you how to perform the lifts. The DVD also contains the only valuable info in the book, how to set up a workout program. Plus, I am annoyed by the poor editing. Fine, so the info is the same, and its the info we pay for blah, blah, blah. To me, it just shows a lack of respect for people who are paying good money to buy your product. He has a new KB book and video out now, "enter the kettlebell". Don't have it and don't know how good it is, but you now may able to pick this DVD up cheap, used somewhere, since it's no longer sold new. Skip the book unless it's free.
