What a great way to prepare kids for the SAT's! Spelling/Vocabulary is always the weak point for my kids, and this makes it easier. We use it as a game at the dinner table to spell and give the meaning of the words; everyone in the family is improving their vocabulary. Definitely hard to fit extra work into any kid's schedule, but this really helps.

Being a recovering 9th grader (I'm now school-free for 20 years.)
I must contrast the young student's opinion w/ the perspective of a 40 y/o parent.
I was forced to learn Wordly Wise from 7th through 12th grades and it proved quite difficult, if not plain irritating. However, I often found myself better understanding what the adults were saying and fully able to converse "at their level" much to their surprise (and mine.)
In fact, I am now buying this very baneful book for my own son to learn at home, as his school fails to see the benefit in confabulatory cognizance. ;)
The tallest mountains are the most rewarding, and Wordly Wise is a very tall mountain.

Hi, I am a 11-year old 6th grader. I own Wordly Wise 6 and I am going to burn that thing in the fireplace when the school year ends! All you do in Wordly Wise is write, write, write!!! Write the word, write the defenition, write the word, write a sentence! Who would want or need to learn words like oderiferous and voluble anyway??? It doesn't help me at all, and it is annoying to do.
Sincerely,
An anonymous Wordly Wise Hater!
