This is a great general purpose prep for the general knowledge needed for effective police work.

We all like to think that there is some magic book out there that is worth the money we spent on it, and is helpful on every police test. Unfortunately most tests are made by different people, each carrying different content. Now I can't assure you that this book alone will come in handy for your subsequent exam since it has poor memorization exercises which SOME tests seem to use too much of, but what I can tell you is that it definitely will increase your odds of getting a better score. My suggestion is buy a couple other well known test prep books, since it is a good investment because most police test now-a-days is around $25-75 bucks and months long processes. So save your time and money and be prepared.

This book contains exactly what it says it does. The general info is presented in an interesting way so it makes for an easy and informative read.
I'm not sure how useful test preps are for police exams as the exams test a general approach to policing rather than specific knowledge.
The author's comments for each answer profide information about what approach to take and what things to consider when answering so I felt like I was getting great direction.
However my results for the subsequent tests dropped a point each time, so I might have been better off trying not to overanalyze each response.
