Product Description:
In her dazzling new novel, Nicole Jordan tempts readers with a tale of breathless splendor and soul-searing passion.

Lovers in paradise . . .

He is a brilliant military commander . . . and every woman’s temptation. When Max Leighton unexpectedly comes to her golden Mediterranean island, Caro Evers longs to heal his emotional battle scars. But during one glorious night in his arms, she discovers a sensual master whose mere touch drives her to wild abandon.

She is the bewitching angel he can’t forget. Jaded by the glittering ballrooms of Regency London, Max returns to Cyrene to find the temptress who haunts his dreams . . . only to learn that Caro leads a dangerous double life. She’s a warrior as well as a healer—a member of a secret society of protectors, sworn to fight evil and tyranny across Europe.

Afraid to lose her heart to Max again, Caro vows to conquer her fierce tenderness for him and thwart his campaign to win her. Then a perilous mission of adventure takes them far from Cyrene’s sun-splashed shores, entwining their destinies and challenging their deepest desires.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Steamy!
I absolutely adore Nicole Jordan's writing. I read this series in reverse order, and I have to say Master of Temptation was my favorite of them all. The story certainly got off with a *Bang* as our main characters sealed the deal in the prologue! It was a nice change from cookie cutter romances in that the attraction was immediate without any of the drawn out chasing and wooing into bed. With that out of the way, the falling in love aspect was more real (for me anyway). There were many wonderful and colorful characters in this tale of secret agents, adventure, and intrigue. Both our leads were strong, smart and fearless. The "money" scenes were quite well done and very steamy. All in all this was a very well rounded book. Nicely done and highly recommended.

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - My least favorite Nicole Jordan novel
I hated the guy Max, he was way to arrogant and full of himself. He was very sought after by women - I don't particularly care for romances where the female feels she lacks beauty / charm / whatever, and the male is the opposite. Also the "Guardians" thing was totally hokey, I've thought that in the other Guardian books but this one really laid it on thick with King Arthur's Excaliber and all.

I really liked 'Prince of Pleasure' so started reading Nicole Jordan, but I don't much like her Cyrene / Guardian series, although 'Lord of Seduction' was pretty good.

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - Woaahh !
I just finished this book having picked it up in the bargains bin at the local newsagent, and being between books thought to give it at go.

It's my very first Nicole Jordan book - talk about steamy!!

Looking at some of the other reviews, other titles by Nicole Jordan are more steamy ! Is it possible.

As the most recent reviewer said, there are sex scenes and then more sex scenes and yet again another sex scene - in between bits of plot.

Not that the plot was bad - it wasn't too bad. Caro was an interesting personality for in those times - the female warrior thing was somewhat hard to swallow but her being into medicine was interesting as there were vertually no female healers then, with the exception of midwives. Also, she was refreshingly opinionated, needing to be in control of her own life and somewhat temperamental (how thoroughly modern!!).

Max on the other hand while appealing, alot more could have been written about him (something more than the nightmares) making him far more interesting than just always wanting sex.

The Guardian aspect of the story I could accept particularly as it is set during the times of Napoleon which may have had groups of their type, however, bring in the sword of King Arthur, Excalibur, I found way too ridiculous.

Overall, I did enjoy this book - entertaining and ... woaahh!
Chick lit as opposed to chic lit !

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - He Really Wasn't All That Tempting....

This is the second book by Nicole Jordan that I have read recently. "Lord of Seduction" was the other book I finished - it is actually the follow up book to "Master of Temptation" so, I read them out of order but, it really didn't make much of a difference.

I liked this book a little less than the first. Reason...I know Ms. Jordan is known for her steamy, sexy and passionate novels - and I'm all for that - but, in this book, it became too much of a good thing for me.

Why...the opening chapter already had our hero Max and our heroine Caro in a hot Cyrennian water spot giving massages and then having intercourse. They had only known each other for three days prior to this yet...the attraction was so strong for both that they indulged quickly before he left her island of Cyrene for good. They don't meet up again for a year until Caro goes to the mainland to find a fellow guardian to help her recover her mother like figure Isabel who has been captured and taken away. The minute the two lead characters meet up again...it's back to normal. They argue a little, build the attraction up again...then it's back to more sex. Frequent sex. Even though Caro is resistant at times...it still happens.

The sex passages were well written, tasteful and interesting but, it was simply TOO often for me. I want to be clear here...the intimacy felt like sex and really good lust not...intense passion built on romance and love. So...it left me a little cold. It was nice that Max recognized his attraction to Caro early and didn't fight it. Caro felt the same attraction but, fought it a little. But...they still ended up having sex all the time - they simply couldn't resist.

I prefer when an author allows characters to get to know one another, the attraction builds step by step and then it happens somewhere in the middle to ¾ of the way through the book. When an author builds the attraction high and deep enough the reader is as anxious for the leads to come together as the leads are themselves! This didn't happen in this book.
Too many sex scenes actually gets a little boring for me as all the expectation is taken away. I know what's going to happen so, I don't get to use my imagination or feel anticipation as is best.

I know these two characters were strong willed, intelligent, courageous and determined and usually I would give three cheers to such main leads but, for some reason once again...it felt like too much of a good thing. Max had plenty going on but, I still didn't connect or find him a stimulating main man. Especially when he orders her to "service him". Caro was more multi-dimensional so, she wasn't bad (almost a bit too adventuresome and heroic if you ask me).

The plot kept you busy with questions of when would Max find out about Caro's real interests, if Max would join the Guardians too, if Caro and Max would get married and if Isabel would be returned alive. So...plenty going on to keep you busy. But...the writing was simple and nothing got to complex fortunately. It couldn't in between all the sex scenes anyway!

Oh well...I have a few other books by Ms. Jordan I already bought and hope they are just a little more interesting to me. I still like her writing...I just wish there was a lot more a-n-t-i-c-i-p-a-t-i-o-n.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - A beautiful, exciting love story

Master of Temptation was so wonderful and hot, I couldn't put down. Caro and Max were a fabulous couple, the island setting was fresh and beautiful, and the rescue of Isabella had me on the edge of my seat. Thank you for such wonderful stories, Ms. Jordan. They just get better and better.
