I admit I liked The Pregnancy Test better. I thought that book had more of a plot in it than this one did. However, You Don't Know Jack was still a good book to read and I enjoyed getting another look at these four friends (Mandy, Jamie, Allison & Caroline). Jack's grandfather was hilarious and had me laughing out loud. My faults with this book is that I felt it was a bit rushed. The story of the book takes place over a two week time period. I don't care about the falling in love and proposing in this short amount of time (I mean, it is fiction after all); I just felt it left a lot of strings untied. What about Beckwith's vision about Caroline and her new husband? What happens with Allison and Finn? What about the job offer for Jack (from his ex Meredith)? Do Jack & Jamie ever get married?
I know the author had intended on making this a series with each roommate having her own book, but I read on her website that she's stopping with this book due to a change in her publisher. That's really too bad because like I said before, I would really like to see some of the loose ends tied up a big fat bow.

I'd been looking forward to reading this book due to the great reviews. It had a wonderful premise and sounded like it was going to be a fun read.
However, I didn't feel that the relationship was developed. Beyond pages upon pages of sex, there was nothing to keep these two characters together. Jamie wasn't particularly likeable, and the physical attraction shouldn't be enough for a 'happily ever after'. A disappointment. I hope the rest of her books aren't as shallow.

Social worker Jamie Peters has had her share of heartbreaks. But they haven't seemed to deter her from the prospect of true love.
Hell bent on saving the world, Jamie focuses all of her time and energy on helping criminals to bring restoration back into their lives. Her constant desire to change everything around her for the best sometimes gets in the way of her own personal life. Turning to a "psychic" friend for help, she learns through a tarot card reading that a chance meeting with her soul mate is near. When this meeting doesn't happen right away, Jamie begins to doubt that it ever will. That is, until she bumps into handsome stranger, Jack Davidson, on the subway.
Right away Jamie and Jack feel an instant connection and agree to throw caution to the wind and meet again. Jamie finds herself falling for him rather quickly and is sure no man can get better than this. Unfortunately Jack has a few secrets that he's keeping from Jamie. There is no doubt that she is the one for him, but he doesn't want to risk what he has with her by showing her his true colors.
When Jamie finds out that she really doesn't know Jack after all, both of their worlds come crashing down. If there is one thing Jamie hates more than anything, its liars and it looks like Jack may have just blown his chance with the love of his life.
YOU DON'T KNOW JACK is a story with a lot of potential. I am an Erin McCarthy fan, but in my opinion this was definitely not her greatest. The storyline was a bit rushed and the sex scenes were just too much. I would've liked to see much more happen with the characters then them ripping their clothes off. I gave it 2 ½ stars.

Erin McCarthy does it again with this awesome book. I've read 'The Pregnancy Test' and was hoping the subsequent book would be about Jamie. I'm glad that my wish came true.
Jamie Peters is a sweet Social Worker with a heart of gold. She's extremely loyal to her friends, believes in love and helping those in need. The only problem seems to be that she wastes her time on men that need her then throw her away.
Jack Davidson is a retired millionaire @ 33 and trying to find a new direction in life...who knew that direction would lead him straight to Jamie.
The two meet and believe that fate brought them together...there's just one problem: Jack lies to Jamie in a major way.
I love how Jack makes Jamie see that fate and love are worth fighting for. Jack truly loves Jamie,so much so that he even decides he wants to throw away the fortune he worked so hard to create.
This is a funny, sweet story and I can't wait to read the subsequent one. The secondary characters are wonderfully written and made me smile everytime they appeared. Ms. McCarthy is a brilliant, witty writer and as long as she keeps writing great novels,I'll keep reading them. Bravo!

I was looking forward to reading this book due to the many positive reviews, but I have to say how disappointing it was! The plot was thin, the character development wasn't too strong, and the sex scenes didn't seem too sexy to me. The one positive thing I can say is that it was a very quick read . . . definitely not a memorable book, or anything I would recommend to my friends.
