This book is about Tegan, one of my fav warrios, and Elise, who was shown on the previous book as a protected woman. I thought I wouldn't like a book in which there was more of Elise than that we had been show, because he rubbed me as the fragile type, but in this book she shows that she is not a fragile woman, but a strong one, strong enough to make cool blooded Tegan fall for her.
I enjoyed the book as I did the previous ones, as there we can found strong vampries who are met with strong womans who turn out to be their soulmates. The story also introduced some changes, BEWARE! SPOILERS AHEAD what with the "main villain" being defeat and a new one risen.

I have read all four of the Midnight Breed books that are out so far, but out of order, and think that this is the very best of the bunch. They are all good, but Tegan is just such a luscious damaged hero! And Elise is so cool and spunky, despite her own painful past. Adrian did an excellent job of developing the attraction between these two wounded souls who have no interest in falling in love. And she shows enough of the other Breeds to stay connected with their stories, without neglecting her principal pair. This one goes on my keeper shelf, and I look forward to what LA offers readers next.

I love Lara Adrian's Breed series. This book is no exception. It is a wonderfully written and heart-felt love story. A fantastic read.

I thought this book was average.... I've read the very first three of this "breed" series, and I find the world Adrian paints to be interesting and plot-worthy. My main criticism is that the male characters are all the same. It's a problem that I constantly find in fiction. Every hero in a series, whether its the Dark Hunters, the Breed, or the Night Walker is a repeat of the same guy. Oh his physical apearance changes, but his personality, motivations, and predatory, possessive, he-man personality is always the same. Ho-Hum.... Come on authors... give the guys a little more variety.
