The good: This book is exciting and interesting and there is a lot going on in it. The relationship between the protagonists is good and there are other interesting characters and the author doesn't shy from killing off the side characters in various ways.
The bad: The ending feels a bit rushed. One minute the heroine is saying goodbye, then it skips to years later when the hero comes home. Not particularly satisfying. Neither is the author's adherence to true history in not finding a way to kill off the villain Nana Sahib. I mean, no ones knows for sure that he lived so she could have found a way for the hero to kill him and have to keep it secret. I mean, the guy had ordered so many people massacred in the book and nothing happens to him. I know that is what actually happened, but i prefer reality to stay rather far from romance novels.
So if you don't mind a story where nothing happens to the villain and the hero and heroine are separated for a good long time, then you will enjoy this story. It's also written well and is a fast read, but for me, I kinda wish I hadn't read it because the villain living is just so ANNOYING.

The book moved along nicely, cool bits of India's history, and it was interesting that they consummated their love so early on in the storyline. However those were the highlights. The heroine was one-dimensional and a little too perfect, young, and gorgeous. The hero was quite good... until he raped the heroine. I hate rape scenes in romance novels, where suddenly while being raped the heroine starts liking it. Please Ms. Sutcliffe! A Nasty, horrid scene. What a terrible thing for a young woman to read. Rape is violence, not romance.

I certainly agree with all of the glowing reviews about this book and especially lord jason and lady destiny. Incredibly drawn complex characters that you love to love. The exception is that the colorful part of the book dealing with the revolution in India is very graphic and thus disturbing. It is essential to the plot but perhaps could have been less grissly. I "skimmed" because the rest of the story was so good. And I do hope there is a sequel with brother trevor.

Wow! This is a terrific romance. It has it all. A super sexy, alpha hero. A beautiful, spirited (but not stupid) heroine. Enough action to keep readers interested.
Some of the love scenes are so hot that they'll give you the flutters (especially the scene on the boat where the hero has had a little too much to drink -- the choice he gives Destiny as to how he'll be with her is so hot I felt weak-kneed).

I love this story. The evolution of Jason to a caring loving and compassionate man and of Destiny to trust and security in her love for Jason is outstanding. Of course buried beneath the soldier Jason has always been compassionate it takes a lengthy prison stay to bring it out. Destiny has married to someone who didn't like women and she being innocent thinks it is her fault that her husband killed himself. These two tortured souls definitely belong together. My only complaint was the ending. Even the epilogue was not a satisfying as it could have been, especially after the power of the rest of the story.
