Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Captivating, Exciting, Romance, Action ...
Contact is a superb Sci Fi romance - I LOVED this book! Susan Grant packs so much into each book - I was even close to tears a couple of times and I am *so* not a crier! I'd LOVE to read a sequel if one is ever written!

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent modern day alien encounter
On a routine night flight from Hawaii to San Francisco, airline co-pilot Jordan Cady suddenly finds herself in one situation she never expected. A gigantic space ship apparently "rescued" her flight moments before Earth was destroyed during an asteroid shower. To make matters worse, the captain has a heart-attack, and when he dies it leaves her in charge of the passengers on her ship who are now all refuges.

Learning about aliens isn't easy. Dealing with the sexy officer Kao shouldn't be as enjoyable as it is. Jordan doesn't have time to deal with the attraction she feels for him. Especially when one of her fellow refuges hacks into the spaceships computer and all the information they have been learning about their "rescuers" doesn't compute.

Jordan is happy with the role of co-pilot. Yet when she has to step forward to take over, she does with so much strength that she is a natural born leader. The way she deals with her grief over the loss of her daughter Roberta is very believable and made me cry on more than one occasion. And yet for the rest of the passengers on her flight, she is still strong and very determined in the way she works with Kao to help acclimate everyone to their new life.

I was very impressed with the way characters grew through the story. There are a large number of "refugees" that Jordan is in charge of and between the nit-picking squabbles she deals with you really get a sense of community and the fact that there are over two-hundred of them rather than just a handful of people.

CONTACT is such a vivid story involving an alien encounter. Susan Grant is such a wonderful storyteller that I can't believe this book was in my to be read pile for as long as it was! I highly recommend CONTACT.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - A FABULOUS DISCOVERY!!!!!
I missed reading this book when it very first hit the shelves, which actually made the shades of Post-9/11 emotion that permeate the tale all the more compelling now that a bit of time has passed. Don't get me wrong, however: There's nothing heavy or "downer" about this wonderful romantic adventure at all.

Susan Grant's tale of a airline pilot who finds herself caught up in an otherworldly adventure is riveting reading! Not only is the romantic tension between the hero and heroine amazing, the supsense and drama of the book keeps you up WAY too late at night turning pages!!!

And of course the fact that Grant is a professional pilot adds realistic details that raised the ante on the suspense significantly.

This book is fabulous!! I highly, highly recommend this to anyone who loves romance, and especially to readers of paranormal, fantasy and sci-fi romance.

Five stars!

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - A real page-turner!
"Contact" is one of the best paranormal romances I've ever read. Fresh, unique, with great world-building and fully-realized characters, this book was a joy to read! It's about an airplane that is hijacked by aliens -- a silly, unrealistic-sounding premise that somehow turned into a gripping, absorbing, completely realistic-feeling book. Not silly at all. In fact, it's a real page-turner.

Very good read. Recommended.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Great Sci Fi Story - Lot of Action, Light on Romance
This is a great science fiction story. The universe beyond earth as described by the author is imaginative and fascinating. The characters in the book are mature adults (no lame empaths or mystical healing heroines in this sci fi story)to whom you can relate. The heroine is intelligent, thoughtful, and can rescue herself. This book seemingly has everything most sci fi romances do not - the only problem is that it is very light on the romance. It is more a story of a group of earthlings escaping from bad aliens. I loved the story and greatly admire the author for her imagination and excellent writing skills. I could have easily rated this book 5 stars if there had been more focus on the relationship. As it is, this is a great story. If you like sci fi with a lot of action, I highly recommend this book. If you are looking for a sci fi with a heavy emphasis on romance, this might not be the book for you.
