Product Description:
'The Anxiety Cure is a warm, wise, and thoroughly wonderful book for people with anxiety disorders and for everyone who cares about them.'
–– From the Foreword by Jerilyn Ross, M.A., L.I.C.S.W., President, Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and author of Triumph Over Fear
'The Anxiety Cure is sure to enjoy substantial popularity and will be used widely by anxious people, their families, and therapists.'
–– R. Reid Wilson, Ph.D., author of Don’t Panic
One in four people suffers from some form of anxiety–– and for millions, the symptoms can be crippling. Fortunately, anxiety disorders are highly treatable. Written in a friendly and reassuring manner, The Anxiety Cure offers both sufferers and their loved ones immediate, long-lasting relief. The authors share their step-by-step methods for dealing with the six main types of anxiety, including panic disorder, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, along with treatment prescriptions and easy relaxation techniques. Grounded in the authors’ own treatment of thousands of clinically anxious people, The Anxiety Cure: - Reveals how to manage anxiety at home and at work
- Provides action plans for friends, family, and support people
- Features dramatic stories as well as boxes, tools, and forms to chart your personal progress
- Outlines lifesaving strategies for anxious people with alcohol or drug problems
The Anxiety Cure is written by a father and his two daughters–– now in clinical practice together–– who tell the inspiring story of how they overcame anxiety in their family. Completely revised and updated, this practical guide features a chapter on anxiety and terrorism and an updated section on the latest medications.

This book is an excellent reference resource for anyone who deals with anxiety themselves or knows someone who does. It provides a great understanding as to why anxiety is, how it effects people, and gives great suggestions and support on dealing with anxiety.
A must have for anyone with mild to severe anxiety issues, alone or supplentary to professional psychotherapy.

Book had some good info that I have heard before, but it was good to get the ideas back into the head. Dragon and wizard theory was good in parts. But best point is to tackle the problems that you have control over, and let go of the the things you can't control.

This book is not about curing anxiety, it is about curing phobias. It does not address any other forms of anxiety, and says nearly nothing about GAD- generalized Anxiety Disorder. If you are starting from absolute ignorance about phobias, agoraphobia or current treatments, it might be worth while as a starting point. If you suffer from anxiety which does not present as a phobia or panic attack, there is little here for you. The advice, in summary, is to expose yourself to your fears and get over it. Kinda simple.

This book is much faster than regular therapy, and I am the type of person who likes fast results and I will work hard to get them. I, like thousands of others, suffer with some anxieties. This program is loaded with wonderful tips and tools in combating anxiety, and I have learned extra tools that I will incorporate into my own lifelong recovery system. I liked the eight-step program that was used and I liked the "family" kind of feel it gave me when reading it. In the future, I will be recommending this book to people who think they may have a problem with anxiety or if they are just inquiring about it.
