This is the very first Karen Moning book that features the MacKeltar twins. All I can say is...READ THIS BOOK! It is a great mixture of time travel, highlands, passion & humor. The characters are well developed and get you itching to read the rest of the MacKeltar books (#2 "Dark Highlander" (drustans twin), #3 "Immortal Highlander" (Adam Black - side character interacting w/ MacKeltars), #4 "Spell of the Highlander" (part of MacKeltar clan), #5 "Highlander's Touch" (seperate story linked w/ Adam Black), #6 "Into the Dreaming" - a novella that features the fairy queen mentioned in the other books. NOTE: This is my suggestion for the order to read them in. There is not real official order in which to read them. All I know is once you finish "Kiss of the Highlander", you will be itching to read the rest. ENJOY!!!

I purchased this audio book for a cross-country flight. It's my very first audio book. I picked Kiss, it's my favourite romance novel.
Like some of the oher reviews I've read, I found it a little difficult to get into at first. Phil Gigante has different tones of voice for each of the characters, you just have to get used to them. About 4 chapters in, I was able to get into it.
Pros: It's nice to be read to. I put it on for the flight, while I was cooking, when I was trying to fall asleep. Phil has a pretty solid grip on the accent, but it slips into the narrative at times (not a bad thing).
Cons: I didn't like his voice for Gwen, she sounds kind of childish/meak and sulky. The sexy parts of the story just didn't seem as sexy with him reading them.
Overall, it was pretty good. I'm really not sure if I'd buy another one or not. Maybe if I was going cross country again.

I have read and re-read all KMM books - and this audio version is amazing. I do not know what the narrator looks like - but when he goes into his Drustan MacKelter voice - "Kiss me, Lass" - well let's just say I should not be driving.

I absolutely loved this book and have read it many times. This my favorite so far for Karen's highlander series. I can't wait for her to write more. These guys are hot!

I'm usually pretty picky about what kind of romance novels I read. There are so many talented authors out ther but at the same time there are quite a few that I would rather write the novel myself that have to read their version.
I think that this author and her "Highlander" series is great. You can find more information on the order of her books to read on her website. There really isn't a set order that you'd want to read these novels but they do follow a time line and it is a good idea to try to read them in the order they were published. This particular book is one of the very first novels in the series.
This particular author tends to stick with the big hulking men for her heros but so far I've really liked all of her heroines. She tries to put real emotion into her books and I think that for the most part she does a great descriptive job. Her sex scenes are a little more steamy than average which can be great for some people but not so great for others. I thought they were mostly tasteful. She does dabble in time travel and the Fae (fairy) idea... which if you don't like than stay away from her books. She keeps it reasonable but it does take a strech of the imagination.
