Lacked an interesting plot. This is not a good example of Carly Phillips' work.

I like this kind of book... If you're looking for lots of substance, this isn't the book for you. If you're looking for a fun read with a little kinky fluff, then you'll love it.

I have been a fan of Carly Phillips for several years and have enjoyed nearly all of her books, but this one read like a bargain sale Harlequin. The main character of Mallory was completely contrived and absurd. How typical to paint her as a Dowdy Delores by day who seems to dress in the dark. And a Sultry Susie by night. A woman all too willing to risk her high profile career for a fling with one of the head honchos, KNOWING that it is strictly forbidden by the firm. Oooo-k then! Was her law degree mail order by chance? Because the character was a constant contrast in intelligence and professional integrity. And the "seduction" and soap opera dialogue had me alternating between LMAO and rolling my eyes in disbelief. I'm as romantic and creative as the subsequent person, but a ring of grapes around her neck? *Someone help dislodge my finger from my throat!* I couldn't even carry on much further. I was so tempted to pitch it in the trash because I couldn't imagine inflicting this book on any other poor, unsuspecting CP fan, but in the end I grudgingly donated it to my local library. This, to me was an example of an author compromising the quality of their work to put out a quick read to stave off fan hunger, while they're working on a QUALITY story. Or perhaps to score some quick cash in book sales. However, it is NOT the type of book that leaves me wanting to shell out another $7.99 of my hard earned money on any of Phillips future work. I'll check it out from a library first. On second thought..maybe not.

I normally really like Carly Phillips' books but this one was not good. I thought it was rather contrived and at times was just dumb. This couple is together for less than a week and in that space of time they completely change every view they have of their lives, their careers and their views on relationships. I know that happens a lot in romance novels but this was changing the characters into completely different people... Anyway, I thought it was not a well thought out book and it felt like Carly Phillips had to meet a deadline as apposed to wanting to produce a quality book.

Seduce Me
This book is unbelievably silly. How boring to read such phrases as "his large hand covered her small one." This author has a limited command of the English language, and no real substance in writing, making for ho-hum reading.
Sadly, this book was on the New York Times bestseller list. Either the American public has stooped to new lows in their book selections, or the reviewer for the above publication has been seduced.
I rate this one star, only because I want to make sure my opinion makes the pages! In reality, we should have been given stars for getting through the book.
