A Vampire Will Not Rest Until He Satisfi es His Hunger . . .

And what I, Reign, hungered for most of all was Olivia Gavin. I have never met a woman more beautiful, more tantalizing, and so I made her my bride. She promised me her heart and soul . . . in return, I plundered her flesh, and bound her to me for all eternity. Then, terrified of what I'd made her, she fled.

Now she has returned, desperate for my help in saving her beloved nephew. But my assistance comes at a price: She must share my bed once more, for the feel of her soft skin, the heat of her kiss, excite me still. And I know she desires me, even as she resists her own heart.

Yet, as we rediscover the passion that brought us together, an enemy waits to destroy us both . . .

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Let the Night Begin
Olivia Gavin has a fulfilling life, even if she doesn't go out in the daylight and is very rarely seen. Turned into a creature of the night thirty years ago by the husband she seldom allows herself to think about, Olivia strives to be content. Her nephew is her entire world and when he ends up missing Olivia has no choice but to seek out the very man she wants to hate, the man she has not seen for their entire married lives, her husband, Reign Gavin.

No matter how much he loved Olivia when they very first married, Reign knows he should have given her the choice of becoming a vampire. In not giving her a choice and tying her to him forever, Reign lost both Olivia and her love for the past thirty years. Because of this, when Olivia comes to him and asks for his help in finding her nephew, Reign knows he must act or lose her. He comes up with a plan of compromise. He will help Olivia and in turn, she will help him - by returning to their marriage bed once more.

The very first impression I got of Let the Night Begin was favorable but leery. I am a huge fan of forced seduction - forced vampirism, not so much. Refusing to give up, I kept reading and the further into the story I became the more I became enamored of it. I wanted to dislike Reign but could not make myself. There was jus something about this vampire that appealed to me and I just loved him. His love for Olivia was the reason he turned her -he only knew that he wanted her to be with him forever. Olivia felt the way I do if her responses are any indication. She was angry at Reign but desired him. But was it enough?

Kathryn Smith's Let the Night Begin was big on emotion as well as passion and full of sultry innuendoes and compelling situations. If Let the Night Begin is any indication of Ms. Smith's ability as an author then she has a fan for life.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Excellent!
This fourth addition to the Brotherhood of Blood series was wonderful. I like the fact that Reign doesn't just find a new HEA. I like it that he has mourned for his love, needed her, wanted her, and when she come back--nefarious plans in the works, she finds she still loves him, needs him, wants him---and can forget him.
A really great story!!!!

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Good Book!
This was a great book! I can't wait until the subsequent one comes out!

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Loved. Loved! Loved!!!!!!!!
I made the prediction that nothing in the series could top 'Be Mine Tonight' and although it still holds true, 'Let the Night Begin' came close to proving me wrong. I had high expectations for this book, and it went above and beyond those expectations. It is offically the second best book in the series!
Reign and Olivia are perfect for one another and I loved the chemistry between them. I can't wait for Temple's book 'Night after Night'! I really hope she gives the others a nice little reunion in Temple's book and I wouldn't mind seeing Payen and Violet in it either. I highly recommend 'Let the Night Begin' to anyone who enjoys a good read.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Vampires, kidnappings and forgiveness
This was a slightly unusual story in that we meet the main characters after they have been married for thirty years. However they have lived separately for all but the very first night of their marriage when Reign Gavin turned his new wife, Olivia, into a vampire without her consent. Olivia has accommodated to her status as a vampire in the intervening years, has brought up the orphaned son of her sister and has lived quietly in a small village. As the story begins we meet Olivia as she discovers that her nephew James has been kidnapped and the ransom is that she must deliver Reign, her husband, to the group of people in Edinburgh who are holding James.

Olivia hates Reign because of what he did to her but when she meets him again to persuade him to help her look for James, a cover for her plan to offer him to the kidnappers, she finds that her opinions are changing. Reign and Olivia spend a great deal of time together following clues to the kidnappers' identities. Yet as they begin to rediscover the passion that very first brought them together they find themselves in danger with a plot against them that is larger than they might have thought and that those close to them might even be involved.

Reign and Olivia are both very interesting characters. Olivia is particularly well drawn as we learn, with her, to reevaluate events in her past and to understand and forgive Reign. Reign is almost too good to be true but he's an enjoyable character to read about. The pacing of this story is excellent with some interesting settings and a few fight scenes. There are occasional inaccuracies in English dialogue by this American author but the overall standard of writing is very high and it is a book that I enjoyed very much. The end of the book reached a firm resolution but with many hints that there are more episodes to come featuring other vampires; I hope that these other books are as enjoyable as this one.
